otion picture production has been democratised. With the proliferation of affordable video production equipment new voices are being found and new visions are being explored. However, motion picture distribution has not caught up and our cinemas are only getting more crowded with the same stories from the same voices we've been given for a century. New visions are indeed being explored, but these visions are not being seen due to lack of audience exposure. Now we have finally been given the opportunity - a crack in the distribution network. DVD provides motion picture distribution the opportunity to catch up to the current innovations in motion picture production.

MICROFILMS is a Canadian motion picture distribution company dedicated to the unique and extraordinary films that traditional distribution companies are ignoring. With our premium label, the Document Collection for documentaries, and our main label MICROFILMS for fiction or narrative films, we bring fresh and challenging alternative/independent films to audiences with uncommonly well produced DVDs. We endeavor to produce our DVDs with the direct input from the filmmakers to properly celebrate and contextualize these films for audiences and collectors.
